Kannada Koota Luxembourg aims to promote, preserve, and stay connected to “Kannada” language and to the rich culture & heritage of Karnataka State through various cultural and linguistic activities. We strive for creative ways to engage the Kannada community in Luxembourg hence we request all Kannada speaking people or non-Kannadigas who feel proud to be from Karnataka or people interested in Karnataka state to become a member/renew the membership.

Activities for Members

Kannada Koota Luxembourg plans to provide a forum for adults and children to speak the Kannada language and showcase their talent in arts, literature, sports, and cultural activities through the below listed events. These activities go a long way in educating the younger generation of the rich culture and heritage of Karnataka state and for the adults to promote, preserve, and stay connected to “Kannada” roots.

“Habba acharane” – The festivals in Karnataka are similar to the one’s that is celebrated across India - Ganesha Chaturthi, Dasara, Deepavali, Sankranti and Ugadi (to list a few). However, the customs, traditions and ceremonies that are uniquely practiced in different part of Karnataka will be showcased during “Habba achrarane” events

“Kannada kali” - The focus of this activity is to teach spoken and written language of Kannada to interested children living in Luxembourg.

“Kreda Koota” - There are a variety of indoor, outdoor and board games that are popular in Karnataka. Chinni Dandu, Buguri (Spinning the top), Goli (Marbles), Kabaddi, Pagade, Chowka Bara, alguli mane and many more. Through Kreeda Koota – we can enjoy these games.

KKL members demand & enjoy the screening of “Kannada chalana chitra” on a regular basis.

“Sloka recitals” - KKL members enhance spirituality & indulge in devotion.

Food is an integral part of any culture and Karnataka has a wide variety of delicious food. KKL members relish delicious food at “Aahara mela” events

“Maitri” - KKL strives to collaborate / partner with similar associations in Luxembourg or Europe or rest of the world so that KKL members can showcase their talents to the wider community through participation in various events.
